I have a premium (got it slightly used, in a good deal) and I like the additional "premium things" it offers me without the need to install them myself. As other people said, its personal.

As far as I'm concerned, it's worth every penny, I have the Premium with the Pony Package.
The way I see it, you may as well buy it the way you want it, you can't change that fact after the car is in yoiur garage. (unless you want to deal with after market parts), not my cup of tea.

You're kidding me right, that is why most folks are here is to mod their car with Ford or quality aftermarket parts (IE: not ebay..) to build their own unique car? That's what 90% of the posts here (minus the horde from OT) are about - modding cars, and getting people's opinions on said mods.

You can change the car quite a LOT in the garage, actually..

Don't get me wrong not biting at ya, just sayin'. If it's how you like it - that is always what matters of course!

The cost of a premium V6, new, is way too close to the cost of a base GT, new.

No thanks.

The "premium" version added different items depending on the model year. My 2007 is the premium version, which was required to get the Pony Package, but I have cloth seats (which I prefer).

I didn't want to have to buy 19" tires, not as available as 18" and much more expensive. But I'd like to have all the other upgrades of that package.

I agree, again personal preference, plus, living in a city in Ca, i'd never get to fully use those 412 horses, I'll stick with all the bells and whistles and 305 hp.

Too funny, me too, I bought a dealer demo, had 4,000 miles on it, got a great deal.

Car companies have a funny way of doing adding things like this as an option on later year cars, more money in their pocket.
I traded in an 04 F-150, came with the overhead console which was "standard", later years, it evolved into an "option".
