What two 'extra' gauges do you have?
Oil pressure is just a dummy gauge and
and is just as good as an idiot light.
It does not show pressure in PSI,
just that you have enough PSI to
trip a 'you have oil pressure above
a certain point determined by Ford
as being adequate' switch. Analog,
not digital.
And the Volt meter? Dont get me started...

pimp my ride
let me guess, your mileage is the same as before the swap...

the mileage is stored on the cluster with the vin #. i installed a mycolor a couple years back in my 05 heres the write up i did on doing it and where i got it. when you buy the cluster, they program the mileage and vin# on it. if there is anything that doesnt work right, it has to be flashed at the dealer. if you buy a used cluster and the vin doesnt match the car, the dealers wont touch it.

its a great upgrade, the info center alone is worth it, the colors are cool and the extra gauges are nicer than not having them. the gauges also work real well, as they worked great when my alternator was failing, so they do work good

the vin# and mileage are programed and stored in the cluster. thats the attemp to control odometer fraud, other wise everyone would be swapping clusters left and right with low mileage. visteon does this when you order a cluster. they also set the mileage + 5 days of average miles. then there is a $300 core charge to make sure the core goes back and there is not 2 clusters with the same vin floating around. it should only cost $45 to get a cluster flashed, its a half hour charge. and the dealer cant change the mileage on the cluster, only flash the build data( which turns options on or off)
