Go to a few ford dealers in you area or drive a hour outside of you area and you will see LOTS of V6s on dealers lots(No Gts}
You should be able to get a V6 at Invoice or around $300 over.....But I would never pay more then that.
The V6s are not as hot as the Gts so you should have no problems, just get out and price around a bit.stop being lazy...JohnnyT

Alright, I'm a newbie here, and this is my first post :-)

I'm 23 and own the 2006 Mustang GT mentioned below. If you take away all of the aftermarket stuff I've added, the MSRP on the car was EXACTLY $30,000.00 (nice round figure, huh?) and I ended up paying $26,620.00 (Invoice was somewhere around $27,900.00). Car arrived one month after I placed my order too I work in the auto industry, which is why I was able to get such a great deal. While I couldn't help you get the kind of deal I got, I can always tell you how to land right around invoice on almost any car. E-mail me if you have any questions
You did get a very good price..........Makes yea feel you beat the system lol,I know I did.
2006 stang Gt Satin Silver
Interior upgrade Red Leather Seats
automatic
Shacker1000
Upgraded wheels
MSRP $30,125
Invoice $27,885..........................Deals are out there but yea need to look.........JohnnyT

I usually go though Costco and the dealer that is doing the Costco thing, said that they are charging $250 under MSRP![]

$250 under sticker.....
And you have been reading that there are not many Gts around on dealer lots.
A few months ago i would have told you that they will be everywhere, but i guess i am wrong.
I am sure after the winter at the rate ford is going I am sure there will still be not may Gts around,But you will see many V6s.
And when spring rolls around these dealers will know that they will not be getting many more so I asume they will jack the price up a bit.
I say if you don't mind paying sticker go for it because it looks like another bad year for the Gts,But with the low amounts of the Gts the resale will be a lot higher.JohnnyT

The best way to get a good price is find a buddy who works for Ford. Employees get A-Plan discount on the Munstang. I got mine through my Mom's A-Plan. My 05 V6 vert was MSRP'd at 27K. It A-Planned out at 24K but hold on there's more. On every dealer invoice, there's two boxes, one is the invoice price and the other is the memo price. The difference is how much holdback is built-in the invoice.

Holdback is basically a dealer commission, everything else above this price is just icing on the cake. I was able to get an additional 1K from there to get the price down to 23K! Just got to haggle a little. It they want to sell the car, they'll make the deal.

Probably the best area to buy is in the Detroit Metro area. Competition is ruthless here. You can play dealers against each other to get the price you want.
