Emblem Search
My new 05 was the first time I have ever had any experience with the Mustang, but I am already joining the local club! I love this car and have started researching its heritage.
I have seen fender emblems that have the V8 and a checkered and an american flag.
I am looking for fender emblems for my V6.
Throughout mustang history were there every any badges for the V6's except the running horse?
Thanks!
Steven

RE: Emblem Search
the non V8 cars didn't have distinctive emblems. the 06 does have the old sty running horse with the vertical color stripes tough. the V with checkered flag and american flag you reference was Chevrolet in the 60s. i have the 4.0 emblems available thru several sites attached where the GT emblem would be on the o5 GTs.

RE: Emblem Search
The Mustang didn't come with a V6 until 1974 (rated at 105hp - exactly half of what they have now). Any 6 cylinder badges prior to 1974 would be for the I-6. You could check the vintage Mustang parts suppliers through their on-line catalogs to see if there is a 6 cylinder badge you like. There are also some new badges out for this generation Mustangs that reference the engine size (in either Metric or English).

Check out this site, if you have not already done so. Over the years, this guy has stocked lots of original, hard-to-find parts. He's been around along time and has a great reputation.
