Default Strut Mount Bearings...had enough!

Hello all....I need your help. I'm just about tired of the knocking and bumping noise that comes from the front end of my 2006 Mustang V6 Pony Package. I have read the bulletins all about front end noise and checked for loose sway bar mounts. I'm almost 100% sure it's my strut mounts since so many people have had problems with them.

My car has original struts on it, 67,000 mi, and I want to keep it stock...no lowering for now. I'd like to hear from those who have changed them out and what brand did you buy? I've read the stock Ford strut mounts( for my V6) will knock within months of putting them on. I love this car, but hate the cheap feel a minor bump in road does to the ride. Thanks for any input.

I upgraded to the FRPP GT500 strut mounts on my 2006 Mustang. Popping noise didn't go away. Actually, in the past year, I have upgraded literally every piece of the suspension except for the front control arms. Popping noise didn't go away. Personally, I'm certain that the popping noise in my car is coming from the control arms.

Two cents.

157db, did you have the problem with your car, and did you replace yours and solve your problem? Looks like the second link requires a non stock strut.

I had the thunk.
It took a lot of phone calls & letters,
but Ford finally Fed Ex'd the strut mounts to my dealer.
Dealer replaced strut mounts & struts (one strut was leaking).
Nice & quiet for 5+ years.

That is great, and it sounds like its all Ford OEM parts. I think I would like to order new struts since I will take them off anyway. Any strut ideas?

Koni STR.Ts FTMFW! Love mine... perfect for a daily driver!

But I also went ahead and upgraded the strut mounts to the beefy Steeda HD Strut Mounts... no chance of popping sounds coming from these mounts!

Also if you're looking for affordable OEM struts/shocks... might suggest Roush's new-take off. $50 shipped for like-new OEM struts, and then just buy the GT500 mounts.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2013-Mu...item41693034f3

They also include the stock OEM mounts, which is the "upgraded" mounts because these came off 2013 GTs.
