Default Update! 5r55S Broken input shaft

Ok guys yesterday driving down the freeway I steeped on the gas to pass a car and "BANG" pushed the gas pedal and no forward motion. I get the car off the freeway and I was hoping for a blown ujoint or grenaded rear end. SO the car runs fine (v6 with auto tranny) no fluid leaks no other visable signs of breakage. So before I pull the tranny I think that the input shaft is broken. with out spending a fortune does anyone know where I can locate a input shaft for a 2006 auto tranny? I plan on pulling it this weekend to confirm my suspicions.

Manual? Auto? Engine revving fine? Absolutely NO input from the engine to the drive train?

Yes sir.... no odd noises no nothing. Thats what leads me to believe its the input shaft. It had a very distinct sound when it broke. Sounded like and axle shaft snapping.

As far as cost Im not even sure were to place it as I have been unsuccessful nailing down a cost for the input shaft.

It is an Auto Tranny

Well I found the issue..... You guys have any idea where to buy the part from?

Looks like the pump shaft broke.

Explains the loud snap.

This will show you the breakdown and give you an idea where to buy this shaft. Question. How did you sheer the input shaft off? Did the convertor lock and break it? How is the convertor? Any metal in the oil, since you destroyed the shaft? Inquiring minds, ya know. Lol. Good luck.

Look up automatic transmission warehouses in your area and you can find this shaft without much problem. (forgot to say that in my other post). Do you have any CEL on? I would think it should set a pressure code or something similar. Good luck.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-749600/ has it for 147.50.

Got it out..... It was a pain trying to drill and tap it because the shaft was spinning so time to burn some steel.....
