Exhaust system help
I recently upgraded my stock single pipe exhaust to MAC LTs, Prochamber & Boomtubes. I used the off road legs from the Prochamber to the headers, thus eliminating the cats. I know, I know...I probably shouldn't have done that. My question is...my exhaust has a horrible, horrible drone which I think got worse after throwing F/I into the mix, but the drone was really bad before. It seems like its bad like that from 2K up to 5k+ on the tac, which means at any speed I have to deal with bad drone. I'm to the point where I'm thinking of installing the gt takeoffs that I bought and never used. Would it make a difference, or do I need to add in some hi flow cats? I did research n the Boomtubes before I bought them and virtually no one complained of drone. I feel like something is wrong, because the drone is unbearable with the top up, forget about having a conversation with the top down....

heres my story
installed single flowmaster american thunder (didnt like it cause it was one pip)
installed dual JBA with H pipe and Borla Stinger Exhaust (drone city)
Ripped out the entire interior and dynamatted the entire car (still drone city)
installed staggered resonators between the cats and stingers (drone city, still)
took off stingers and put on GT takeoffs, problem solved.

Its the muffler component you selected.
Its not the cat delete option you went with.
And to think, that with a name like'boomtubes'
one would think that they would be drone resistant.
Borla or Corsa for the sound without the drone...

Thanks guys. Like JD I also gutted the car and installed sound deadener and still had drone city...and like JD when I put my Gt takeoffs on the drone was gone! I'm a happy damper now! At least until we move, possibly next year, I'll still enjoy my cat less setup.

But be sure they are from a MUNUAL GT and not an AUTO.
It makes a BIG difference...
Now everyone will be looking up their tailpipe to see which
flavor they have... Funny, neighbors looking up tailpipes.
What a sight in America...

Well... you could be looking up the tailpipe... or researching the part number and verifying that way too. I forget what the numbers are... but if you poke around in the forums they are listed somewhere.
I'm actually on my second set of GT takeoff mufflers. First set was fine but when I procured (at a steal) an entire catback system, the mufflers were somewhat newer and have the rolled edges... same muffs.... they just look nicer.
