Default Mustang Engine Ticking

Hey Guys,

So it's been maybe 2 months that my mustan 07 v6 started to make a little noise when I accelerate (under 2000 rpm) it sounds like she is ticking ...

Its manual and when im on idle the noise is not there but when im in low RPM when I shift to the 1st gear the noise appaears , engine looks like he is ticking

doig like ( tik tik tik tik) and goes aways ... I didnt have any power loss, oil had been changed for royal purple not even 2 months ago.

Car had 106 000 miles.

I really need your help .

Thanks !

That could be anything man... Try to get a video of it, do you know the general area it is coming from on the car? Engine bay, cabin, rear, etc...

I agree it could be anything from how you've described it. But keep in mind these 4.0s are known to have very noisy fuel injectors that tick or rattle, so your issue could be just standard operational noise. Are you sure its coming from the engine?

+1, but he said he doesn't hear it at idle which is the only time I hear mine.

Ahh good point! I thought I was going crazy because whenever I pulled up to drive-throughs it would tick like crazy, then mysteriously die down once it got off idle...

OP have you done the basic checks like oil/fluid levels?

My 4.0 (2007) with a 100k just started making a really bad rattling sound somewhere around the top of the engine. Sounds like something broke or came loose. I had a mechanic look at it (not sure if he's any good) and he pulled off the valve covers and the plenum and the intake man and he could not find anything wrong. He said the injectors were ok.

I'm desperate. If I can't identify the problem, I will have to let the car go. Can anyone shed some light on what could be making such a noise? I initially thought that it was in the timing chain area but it's further back. Thanks.
