check charging system
This afternoon I started my car and it said check charging system, it ran fine for a few miles. A few hours later I drove it again and, maybe 10 miles later my radio shut off, then my dash lights, then my headlights dimmed and my battery gauge bottomed out-All while I was driving. Now it won't start. I just replaced the battery about 2 months ago, but my heat has been working on and off, mostly only when my foot is on the gas. Do I need a new alternator? Any other ideas?

Yep. The S197 charging system is a thing of futility. Best bet is to get a PA Performance alternator from AM and be done with it.
While you're at it, best have the battery load tested. When one goes, it often weakens the other.

These newer alternators don't seem to have any replaceable parts like a few years earlier. You could buy brush holders and regulators and more. Now they only service a replacement alternator. Talk about being parts replacers. No more repair as necessary, now it's replace as necessary.
