Default MMR Intake

I've a few questions about this. I went to WWW> Modularmustangracing.com and say that they sold just the tube. I like MMR due to these reasons:
It looks cool
It has a MAF
and well, it looks cool.
Now my problems with it lie in the fact that it doesnt have a heat shield. Doesnt that negate
the "cold" part of the CAI?
My questions are: Can i stick another cone (one that comes with a heat shield) like MAC or AFE? Does that little vortex intake insert fit in this thing? If so what diameter should i get, and which end should i stick it, TB side or cone side. Thats the only reason i dont have a CAI right now. I want MMR but i want a danged heatshield.

I bought that kit from MMR and i thought the same thing, but i don't think it makes a difference because with out that heat shield i think you draw more air in. And i also bought the xcal 2 from them and it is tuned to that cai, so if you put that shield around the cai i think that would change the way the tune works.

Heat shield shouldn't change the way the tune works... in theory it would reduce the air temp going in but the computer adjusts for the temp so no change in tune is needed... Some say the heat shield doesn't make that much of a difference... the other thing is the MMR tube is metal and it heats up which ends up transfering some heat to the air as it goes through even with a heat shield...

Default MMR Intake

I have an MMR Intake for my V6, flowmaster, and Diablosport tuner with a 91 octane performance installed. Is there a tune out for the MMR Intake?

MMR has a heat shield. It's avaliable , at least I got mine , from V6 Mustang Stuff. I did not get the "cool" tube at the time. Anyway I was not happy at all with the MMR set up and put it on my garage shelf and went with the K&n set up and a BAMA tune. 99K miles as all is well.
