OK Question, Mine is not broke yet but I would like to replace before it does. How do you get the plastic one off if not broke? I didn't buy a new one yet wanted to get this answer first.

I guess we are the only 2 that doesn't want to get stranded when it brakes and or crash because of the break.... I was thinking about using a dremel tool to cut the old one off.

That sounds like a viable option. I bought the replcement billet part but haven't installed it yet. There isn't a lot of room. I'm not sure if the plastic part is pressed on. I don't think its threaded. Let me know how the install goes.

Anyone that has done this mod have any pointers? It seems like a simple fix but you know how unexpected problems can occur,

It is pressed on, with glue. You could probably break it apart with pliers. I highly suggest doing it now and replacing it with the metal part. Because **** replacing the master clutch cylinder.

I did the install yesterday. The original piece is pressed on a serrated shaft. It is made from Delrin plastic and no way pliers will break it. Very tough material. I had to use a dremel to cut it off. The billet replacement part is top quality. If you are one that is OCD replace it. I do believe the original part will wear over time.

It came black finished with an allen wrench for the set screw. The bag had a sticker Made in the USA on it.
