Default Exhaust Question

I want to get ceramic long tube headers for my V6, but should I also get a catted X-pipe and magnaflow street catbacks, or do you suggest another setup?

Thanks.

Which year? If it is the 4.0, they have a terrible sound without cats

If you get the headers you have to change the midpipe so it fits. I got a catted xpipe so I could still pass emissions As for the catbacks that's up to you depending on what kind of noise you want and how loud you want it to be.

I see you have BBK Long tube headers, BBK catted xpipe, Pypes Pype Bomb Axle Back...

Cool...I think I'm going to go with the Magnaflow Axle Backs...

I have an all new respect for mechanics after putting the ceramic headers and the catted x-pipe on today...9 hours total, busted knuckle, bruised palms....

BUT WORTH IT!!!!

One question...I smell exhaust when I'm sitting idling...is it because maybe I didn't push the xpipe up high enough when I tightened the clamps back up?

It sounds like there is a bit of an exhaust leak somehere up front, I would check all four ends of your X-pipe, and check whether your O2 sensors are fully seated.
I have a few questions about the BBK long tubes for the 3.7L. I was wondering if anyone happened to know the difference in underhood temps between the stock manifolds, the chrome long tubes(should be vey close to stock temperature), and the ceramic coated long tubes(should be lower, but by how much)? Also, how does the ceramic coating hold up over time, and is it ok to use header wrap to further insulate against heat transfer to the general engine compartment, and the same for the chrome coated tubes? Thank you for your time.
