TPMS is a pain in the azz, forced down the consumers throat. I check my tires regularly. I don't need some POS system to tell me I'm down to 26 PSI or less. Hell, I add air when mine are below 30 PSI and that TPMS system doesn't help squat for that.
You got that right.

Yeah it can be a pain but can be a good thing as well. I was on the freeway a couple months ago and all of a sudden the car felt funny. Started getting that unstable feeling like drifting all over the lane. Next thing I know there's a loud tone from my message center and a message saying "Low Tire Pressure". So I get off at the next exit and check and sure enough one of my front tires is almost flat. I had my 11 year old son in the car with me so it helped me fix a problem which could have turned bad.

Based on what you stated above, it was YOUR OWN BRAIN SENSOR SYSTEM that alerted you that something was wrong followed by the TPMS system. Had the TPMS system not alerted you, would you have kept on driving? Heck, no.

I'm not saying that the TPMS should never have been available, just that it should have been an option for those folks that wouldn't know a rock if it hit them.

I have to agree here... You noticing something was wrong was the key, not the TPMS system alerting you lol.

Yes I noticed something was wrong. But the average person may not.
