Default Bad cats on 07 v6

I need new cats for my mustang, it's fully stock and a shop here in tucson quoted 450 to put new cat in. What's the cheapest route I should take? For that much I could get an aftearket exhaust

Under acceleration my car would just revv and seem to not go anywhere, I thought it was a tranny problem so I took it to a shop and turns out it's clogged cats. They disconnected my exhaust and took it for a test drive and it ran perfect. Right now I have my o2 sensors out so the little bit of air flow will get me to work everyday until I get new cats.

You will be getting a new motor running it with the O2s out of the system...
If it revs, its not clogged cats...
How many miles on this V6 that it has clogged cats?
100,000 miles?
300,000 miles?
A half a million miles?

New mechanic time for you...

Check with a Ford dealer. Cats are covered after the normal warranty expires. Something like 8 years or 80k miles. You need to find out why the cats failed.
