Default Pilot bearing inside of flywheel help

While doing my clutch replacement for my 2007 v6, I was removing the flywheel to swap out pilot bearings. I noticed there was none inside the crankshaft area! I decided to install the bearing there and I hammered it in and it seated perfectly. Then as I was cleaning up I noticed there was a pilot bearing inside the actual flywheel! you can knock out the old pilot bearing with a 13mm socket, how did you seat the new pilot bearing in the crankshaft area? can you take pics of that? I think you have to take it back out of the crankshaft area and put it back in the flywheel and if I remember correctly, the pilot bearing goes in a certain way. look inside the pilot bearing and see if there is an off set.

There was an empty hole in the crank, and from all of the videos I've watched you hammer it in there... well I suppose not. There is an offset on the bearing of about 1mm where it looks like a seal is is that what youre talking about?

Ok. So this message is for anyone in the future wanting to know about something similar to my situation. Apparently the pilot bearing goes inside of the fly wheel and not the crankshaft. There is an opening in the crank but that's not where the pilot bearing goes. I decided to go out to my porch where my flywheel is sitting and took your advice turbo, and hit it with a 15mm socket from the engine side of the flywheel and out popped my old bearing! Now ill have to go in the crank and do the grease trick and get out the new pilot bearing haha.

The grease trick might not work with a needle bearing...
