Exclamation Idle hesitation

IDK if this is anything serious, so anyway....
While at a red light or drive thru I sometimes get a slight hesitation and the rpm's will dip slightly. Happens pretty rarely cept the other day it was a few times at a red light. Its almost unnoticeable. This wonders me bc I had a 93 Saturn with 171000 miles on the original fuel pump and would get a surge sometimes while idleing. But never a hesitation. So do I need new plugs? Or IDK? Or maybe this is common and not to worry, I mean wonder....
Most other threads I have come across are about hesitation or bog when accelerating....not me mines at idle. Any thoughts?

Try cleaning the throttle body and Mass Air Flow sensor and see if this resolves the issue. It is very simple to clean both. All you need is a can of throttle body cleaner and a can of Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner.
You can locate videos on Youtube, if your not familiar on how to clean them.

Is your air filter clean?

When is the last time you had your fuel filter changed?

When I got my Stang last summer, according to the carfax, all recommended maintenance has been preformed....I got my Pony at just under 80,000 miles. But I cant prove that the fuel filter has been replaced twice already( every 30,000 miles or 2 years) so IDK. As for cleaning the MAF....that's easy. Already cleaned the TB because I had my car go into limp mode one cold morning. The air filter is clean it just has a yellow color to it. Maybe I should get a new one? Thanx for the advice/thoughts.

+1 on cleaning the TB first. If that doesn't do it, then the fuel filter. Also check the air filter (a visual, held up to a light source, should suffice). I'd also run a tank or 2 of the correct SeaFoam mix (I typically run Techron fuel system cleaner every 10k miles or oil change, whichever comes first, as preventive maintenance). The MAF is easy enough to do a light cleaning to but I find it rarely relates to a variable idle problem.

Will do fuel filter, according to my Chilton its a breeze. But as for that yellow air filter....Holding it up to a light source....How translucent should it be? In other words, how much light should show? Or am I making this more complicated than it needs to be lol? Obviously a new filter is white, so maybe the yellow colored one is "less than". Car runs fine with it so I never replaced it.

Love the car, now if I only had a woman I'd be high on life!
