Default Before and after pictures

This is the bolt on replacement part. Reuses original bolts, switch can be completed in 2 hrs. Powder coated, should never rust out.
This shows how rusted the bars get. The body was supporting the bars. Mine were so rusted through they bent under the parts own weight after removal.

Default Torque specifications on bolts 46 & 98 ft lbs

Just an update for us do it yourself guys. The torque specs on the rear support braces for mustang convertible are the 2 bolts at each end of the brace are 98 ft lbs. These are the main connection point to your vehicle . The middle 2 bolts are 46 ft lbs. The short one that goes through the center tube & the other is the bolt at the top of the upright brace to the vehicle. Also an installation tip; put one bolt loosely at the front of brace to slide into slot made in brace. Then attach upper bolt on the body brace. With the top loosely secured the brace is easier to line up the rest of the bolts before being torqued down. Also be careful with bolt removal! The short body bolt is obsolete from Ford now. I have replacement bolts from Ford while I could still get them. Main bolts at the ends are still available as is the upper body bolt from Ford. I am sourcing now for a substitute bolt & powdercoated bolt replacement hardware should be an option soon? Canada; no problem .. ...ehh

Hey all just figured out why I keep getting reminded about general discussion rules. If you need to reach me I have a used parts for sale site on mustang forum. Those emails are allowed I believe? This is too good of a mustang resource site to get banned from it. My email is Bstrunk37@gmail.com if I can help you keep your vehicle in safe & tip top shape? Thanks bud

Default Blue support braces

Thanks Don! Enjoying our rides on the road is why we all have chosen Mustang convertibles. 10,000,000 Mustangs built is quite a testament to the endurance of the brand. Have been sending quite a few sets up your way & northeast of you also. Ford still has not improved their design on this part to address the premature rust issue. Just added braces but no vent holes. My dealer told me they are obsolete now but he could find me a set for $755 each side. $1510.00 a set...lol heres a picture of the old & new support bars. Also a pic of my ride. Thanks for your encouragement! Bud

You're doing a great service for all us Vert owners out here. I really laid the rust preventative on mine in a few layers in order to make sure these last. Thanks! don
