Default new to 2005 v6 mustang

Ok, so I bought a new to me 05 stang, 106k, one owner, clean car but thinking of putting on duals, maybe headers, turner, change all the fluids etc. Summit has a Dynomax dual exhaust with good reviews, might get a set of Pacesetter headers, and a turner, best hypoid lube trans fluid etc.

Anything else I should do also, struts shocks, probably worn out to but rides ok not going ot do anything but drive it,

Thanks, Arnie

I just bought a 2008 Mustang and I have just finished the following:
1) Changed power steering fluid to Mobil 1 ATF synthetic
2) Changed the fuel filter. It must have been the original since it was a motorcraft and fuel coming out inlet was dirty.
3) Changed rear brake pads and rotors. Found that one caliper pin was sticking which caused one side to be worn down more.
4) Changed Manual transmission fluid to Mobil 1 ATF synthetic
5) Detailed car using Dawn liquid, used clay bar on entire car, rewashed with Meguiars car wax soap, waxed entire car with Meguiars wax
6) Cleaned engine using diluted simple green and then using tire dressing on black plastics

To Do
1) Change front brake pads and check caliper pins
2) Bleed entire brake system using pneumatic brake bleeder
3) Replace spark plugs and check resistance on spark plug wires
4) Replace drive belt with Gates belt..
5) Replace all radiator hoses and flush system with distilled water. Fill back with radiator fluid/distilled water
6) Replace thermostat.

Oil was recently changed before I bought it but next oil change I will switch to Valvoline High Mileage synthetic oil

Ok so I bought some plugs today to change when I put on my new headers and X pipe Dynomax duals, was thinking of changing the tranny fluid and filter but the guy at the FLAPS said it may affect the trans any thought on that using Valvoline Syn fluid? Its been a while since I have thought of working on a car for performance, now give me an older Saturn and I good lol. I'll get to the other things as they come up maintenance wise

If you don't know the maintenance history I would follow the service guidelines for your car.

I would bet that at 100k on the odometer your transmission fluid and filter are up for changing.

Concerning transmission flush you might want to read this post:
