I recently purchased a 2006 Mustang. The Ignition key will not open the drivers door. It turns ok and seems to turn tumblers with full motion but it does not work. I have to open with wireless remote. I am worried that battery might die and then I'd be locked out. The drivers side inside lock switch does work.
The trunk had the same problem. I had easy access and pulled the cover and found a wire with a plug that was not connected. I reconnected it and the key started manually working again.
I don't want to pull the door panel if it's not necessary.
Any input into door lock operation would be appreciated.
