Are tires bad or is it a mechanical ?
Here is a description of an issue I have. Will try to be brief as possible.
Close to 8-9 months ago :
It started with 'wah wah' sound from the front 2 wheels. This would be at 60mph. At 15mph, I could feel a vibration - as if from the wheel assembly.
I suspected wheel bearings were bad. Took my card to my local mechanic.
At the local mechanic:
He said the bearing is fine. Tires could be bad. He said tires could be cupped. But I didn't ask any further questions as he wasn't going to charge me anything.
I rotated tires. There was no more sound from the front . Sound seemed to have moved to the rear.
After few months :
Vibration at 15mph came back. So did the 'wah wah' sound at higher speeds.
I can get tires changed. But if it' a mechanical problem, I would have spent on the tires for nothing.
Questions
a) Is this because of bad tires ?
b) Is this because of bad rim ?
c) Are after-market rims ok to install (say from American Muscle) ? There are some that I like and I'd like to order it.
d) I live in Norther Virginia and yet to find a good Mustang mechanic. Can someone recommend on please ? Local Ford dealer is good but too expensive. I understand they have an overhead cost - I'm just not prepared for the expenditure.
Thank you !

Most likely your struts are worn out causing excess bouncing. The bouncing cups the tires. For 2007 your due. They existing struts are 8 years older or more.... That's why the original problem moved to the back (with the tires) then came back after a few months.
