Default What kind of air intake is this?

I recently bought a 2005 Ford Mustang 4.0 V6.. It has a few custom parts on it and one of them is an air intake but I am not sure what kind it is. And is it a cold air intake?

It is definitely not a factory inlet duct or filter, and unclear where the Mass Air Sensor is located, but then, I am not familiar with that engine. It clearly has a "Drive by Wire" electronic throttle body. imp

It's a Chinese eBay intake for the 4.0 V6. You can see the maf sensor next to the blue hose. Do not but anything resembling this. First, it looks like stock diameter, so no gains there. Second, it's metal, so the heat soak will actually make you lose power and third, that filter looks like a Chinese ripoff of an already crappy K&N oiled filter with no oil on it.

Here's a similar one. The price says it all:

That is a hot, not cold air intake. Sucking in all that heat off the radiator, engine and exhaust manifolds. And as Flash xx stated it is made of metal. I would get rid of it asap.

I have a OEM that I took off my car. You can have the whole thing for 20.00 plus shipping to you.
