v6 exhaust
I want to change out the stock exhaust, I dont want the dual exhaust. What all do you recommend I change with the exhaust? And what is the better exhaust system recommended by the forum? Thanks in advance.
Exhaust?
Air intake?
What is the best?

RE: v6 exhaust
well there are no choices (that i know of) if you want just the exhuast tubes, but, you can replace your headers or your axle-back
you mentioned an air intake, this is not really part of the exhaust, but there are many very good ones, there is a poll that is called "intake" in this section of the forum, and people have voted that the AFE cai is the best
if you are looking for performance, do the intake or headers
if you want sound, go with the axle-back exhaust, good choices (imo) are the jba or the gt take-offs
you can go to www.v6mustangstuff.com for all these products, except the gt take-offs (which are easy to find anyways on ebay or sellers on this forum)
hope this helped

RE: v6 exhaust
I have the magnaflow dual cat-back exhaust. I love the way they sound, and the way they perform. You can go to mangnaflow.com to hear a sound clip, but they sound much deeper in person, it sounds nothing like the clip. You could also find a clip on here of the magnaflows. I highly recommend them.

RE: v6 exhaust
I really like my GT take-off (single). It sounds much deeper than stock, yet isn't too loud with the top down. It was dirt cheap from Casco (sp?) - $55 with shipping, and was an easy install (no jack was used - I just hung the rear-end over the curb with my '66 parked in the street to create a safe working area). For that amount of money, I am really happy with the results. Others may like a louder sound or want true duals, but the single GT take-off works great for me. Look on eBay if you are interested.

I also went with the Magnaflow Stainless Cat Back system. It has a great deep sound that I wanted. It only took me just about an hour to install them. However I did pick up a slight vibration on the right rear pipe that I am still trying to correct.

RE: v6 exhaust
Of course I have to chime in as well on the magnaflows, here is a sound clip of mine:

Though now I am considering converting it to a H pipe system next month. My miniDV is not the greatest quality in the world, but the clip should give you an idea. If you want sound without the expensive price, go for a GT take off muffler. Mine is collecting dust in my garage. If you live in the DC area you can come by my house and have it for free.
