You don't need to haul out the dremel to remove the pins. A simple pair of diagonal wire clippers will do the job perfectly. Try to snip them as close to the back of the emblem as possible.

Other than that, you want to clean any wax and/or grease from the fender area they'll be attached to. Dawn dishwashing liquid mixed with water is good for that.

Follow up with a rinse, dry the area, then give it a final wipe with isopropyl alcohol, and you should be good to attach them

I have an '05 that I put Pony fender badges on. I went to the local Ford dealer and measured on an '06 with badges. I also clipped the backside pins off the badges with wireclippers and then filed them down smooth. I stuck them on with the adhesive on the back and they have been on for about a month in both hot and cold weather with no problem. Good luck.

How much did you pay for the 06 badges?

I bought 04 badges they are a little bit smaller but still look nice. I took a pair of end snips and cut off the plastic pins and just peeled and stuck... lol

They may be a 1/4 inch off but who can see both sides of the car at the same time...

I actually got them for xmas but my mom paid i think 30 shipped for both of them... even tho i could have gotten them for the ford cost +10 percent policy if i would have had my girlfriends aunt buy them for me... she is a GM for a ford dealership and offered 2 get me stuff, lol...

I clipped my backings also but the weather has been rainy and foggy on long island so i figure i might as well wait for a clear day so they can adhere better... I have pre measured and stuff and am confident it will come out good.. im just wondering if after i install them how long i should let them sit to stick better??

she got them on ebay but not many people were selling them, i saw it sent her the link and she bought it, lol

i got the 2004 mustang badges form the dealer about 25 bucks for both. I didn't like the size of the pony package badges they were to big/ just cut off the taps then clean the area many times with naphta you can get it at any home center. its what detailers use to remove wax. i used it when i installed my stripes. kinda scary at first but it works fine. very mild just clean the area alot changing rags. till it squeeks.

I have the dimensions from the original mustang. What were the dimensions you took from the dealer? Ever since I bought mine I wanted to "pony" it. I'm getting the fender badges next week.

My measurements taken from an '06 Pony are as follows:

Left side-3 1/2 inches from fender edge at door to Pony's tail,
4 3/4 inches from fender crease above Pony to top of Tri-bar

Right side- Same as left
