Ah, the joys of driving young...
I was 30 yrs old when I came to the States (clean UK driving record... not even a parking ticket) AND I ended up paying $1200+ (liability insurance) for a beaten up firebird when I first came over here
Thankfully, that was 10yrs ago, I'm now paying normal (expected) rates.. much cheaper

you were pulling out of the parking lot? if so then it is your fault no matter what because you were crossing or coming into traffic, it doesnt matter if she had no lights and was doing 130 mph and made you a parapalegic, its your fault, id still fight it though because of the fact that the lights werent on.

in almost every case i would say it was my fault, but wheni pulled out there was no traffic at all on my left due to a red light she came around the corner on a left tunr signal, how was i suppose to see her also she had well over 100 ft to see me and atleast stop.

WAs there a police report filed (did someone call the police, if so there was one). If you were ticketed, then, yeah, maybe you are at fault. But if her insurance company is saying they won't pay, well what do you expect them to say? Ifd the police report says her lights were off, then you have a case and should contact a lawyer.

Thats horrilble to hear man. I too got my insurance stripped away last year. I lost it in an expedition when I rear-ended a crv (wif an asian driver) that scoot out infront of me without signalling at 10 km/h. i was going 90 km (the posted limit) and couldnt stop in time. 100% at fault they said i was because I was 17 at the time. Now im 18 and I get riddled with traffic fines all the time.
I think theres huge loop-holes in the system that are just messed up. A teen gets caught for street racing, he looses his license and car (whatever the value is). An elderly lady kills a cop and lets him die, 1000 fine. Its retarded

That really sucks for you. Hopefully something good will happen and you wont be charged with anything. And if you guys wrecked, there should have been a police report done. A police report is supposed to be done if theres a wreck so in case both parties further down the road wanna go to court and this and that, there will be a report of what happened so no party can change his/her story. Trust me I work at the Sheriffs Office and it happens all the time.
Sorry bout your car though. Atleast your gonna get it fixed, but hopefully you wont have to pay for it.
