I talked to Lidio today.... The serial locking feature is not quite yet available... but SCT says it should be very soon... Lidio is looking forward to it...
EGG-cellent. I hope it means he can email tunes without any worries...did he hint that he'll consider that? "looking forward to it" and mailing out tunes may be two different things [&:]
ok... i'm bad... i assumed it meant so he can e-mail the tunes... I know he realizes how much more convienent it is to be able to e-mail the tunes...

So will there be a new program to load the tunes to the x-cal2?

Oh yeah...it's available now! It's called Live Load 3 (thus the files having a .ll3 extension).

http://www.sctflash.com/downloads.php

Specifically, here: http://www.sctflash.com/software/LiveLoadInstall.exe

The text on the web page for Live Load 3 is a bit wrong--they finally settled on the .LL3 rather than the .LLF, which the paragraph references...

They are using .LL3 files NOW....that's why I thought the serial number specificity was working....

We tries using the LLF or LL3 type files (I forget which ones) and they did not work with my car for some reason. We updated my SCT2 to the new firmware - that allows for user adjustability on the device and then converted the .xct files to the new version and uploaded those the the sct2. Then plugged in the sct2 and uploaded to the car. Turned her on and got 2 distinct error codes. We kept trying different things but finally had to switch everything back to .xct files and lost user adjustablity on the device. Anyone have a similar thing happen? We called SCT and bottom line they were unable to help us...

Found more information in this Live Load .pdf from SCT--on page 2, it mentions the serial number encoding:
