Car is being a piece of crap...E Brake Stuck and trans rattle
my "new" 2005 mustang is being a complete piece of garbage...the manual tranny still rattles and now the e- brake is jammed or something and the car wont move..and the few times it does it feels like its dragging 3000lbs behind it..so i took it to ford last nite and told them to fix it today...and look at the transmission ratlle and squeaky clutch...that is just the beginning of the things i am going to complain about over the new few months....i just want the e-brake fixed cause i need a car..and they wouldnt give me a free rental car mind you so i left..im now awaiting their call

Start screaming... what sort of service are they offering? If my place didn't offer loaner... I'd definitely be talking with the GM (oh yeah, I've already spoken to the GM) he dreads heaing my English accent and knows it's gonna cost him some way or other! I haven't paid for an oil change yet
THEN you can start wailing about the stereo <grin> (but I think I'm the only one on here who got a $695 refund on their stereo though)

car is fixed..the parking break was frozen in place hence why it woulndt move..and they said that the slight tranny rattle in neutral is totally normal and that im not the first person to ask about that issue...they checked out my entire car and all looks good...14600 miles

Hey there,
If you continue to have frozen e-brake problems, check out the following thread
https://mustangforums.com/m_837275/m.../tm.htm#853669
I had this problem myself, ends up that some (maybe all, not sure) 05's have a bad handbrake system compared to the 06's. The 05's had regular steel handbrake cables, the 06's have stainless steel cables, and the protective boot around the cable at the brake is prone to cracking and letting moisture in, resulting in the handbrake freezing solid without being frozen to the brake itself. The new handbrake system fixes this issue. If you give your dealership the information posted by angelica39 in this tread, they'll contact the Ford hotline and replace your handbrake system under warrenty. Haven't had a problem since they replaced it. Later
