Default woops there goes the alternator!!!!!

ok so i decided that the shaker 1000 just wasnt enough for me so i decided to go bigger. i added 2 more 12" Rockford Fosgate subwoofers (keeping the shaker) and the beast just wont charge. its gotta be the alternator! so i was wondering if n e one has seen some out there that can handle my need for bass. i could of sworn ive seen one while i was surfing but cant think of the site. need some help.

Find an electrical shop that will rewind your alternator to a higher output. We used to do it way back when I was into CB radio, and was running 1000watt+ linears. It works.

What kind of amp are you running?
Also how are you handling the frequency cancelation between the Fosgates and the Shaker system subs?

Wonder if there is a bigger problem somewhere. I am running a 900 watt RMS Eclipse amp with no problems at all.

What won't charge? Do you mean the car battery won't hold a charge anymore? I'd guess you have a dead short somewhere.

If you're saying your AMP won't hit, I'd look into a big capacitor. Cheaper than a new/rewound alternator, and a lot easier to install.

Caps are just bandaids when it come to charging issues. Having bass drops, etc caps are fine but when the main battery wont charge enough adding a cap will actually make the problem worse.

You did not slice into the wires for the shaker subs did you??????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????
