for me (i'm 16 and obviously on a tight budget) i'd go with mustangtuning and the ford racing T-Lok... those are the cheapest gear's/T-Lok i'v found thus far

Nothing wrong with Motive gears... and the Ford Racing t-lok is a good choice.

the only thing with the motives is that they wine a little, and ive heard that the ford racing ones dont. Not really noticable, but i kind of like it.

the Motives do whine a bit, but you get used to it.

I got 3.73 Motives from Brenspeed on Ebay, it was like $137. Mine don't whine at all. Guess they have to be set up right.

I bought a T-lock and 3.73s from a guy off 0f ebay. They were used and came out of a Ford Ranger. $200 for the whole thing. I have installed lots of these things before and did the job on a weekend. It is about a 6 hour job and you really need to put it on a lift. Also need the right tools. Anyway, I would not suggest you install them yourself unless you do it with someone who knows what they are doing. I have had NO trouble with the T-lok and gears. It is hard to screw up a T-loc and gears unless you are pushing some serious torque. A Ford Ranger does not qualify in that regard. You can also go to a junk yard and pull the T-lok and 3.73s out of a Ford Ranger and just clean them up. 9 out of 10 will be in perfect condition. Now if you plan on doing the Screaming thing, get some hardened racing gears. If you just want to spin both tires and get a great shot out of the hole, Ranger setup will work great.

Unless you have a pocket of cash....then go for the best!

Yep, with the motives, its about the ability of the installer. To keep them from whining, the installer has to know how to install them right. My installer hooked up some sort of guage which he said was the key to getting them right. When my old 4.10s were in, he showed me how the last installer had them set 20 off, and that was why the gear whine was so bad.
