EXACTLY!! Now i know that those may be considered "ricers", but they would toast any V6 that they faced. I think only a supercharged V6 would stand a chance against one of them. My aunt has a G35 and i've driven it a few times. It's ridiculously fast. Pretty frikin torquey too. Dont get me wrong, I love my stang (glad i got it cuz a G35 was the other car i was considering but its body styling just doesn't compare) but why can a 4.0L V6 not put out at least 10-15% more HP than a 3.5L ???

Yep, I've been gunning for the 350z since day one. Hopefully I can catch one.

I will!!! Most 350z's Ive seen are running 14.3 - 13.77 in the 1/4 mile. I'm gunning for 13.0!!!! But if I 13.4, I will still be very very happy. I can't wait for this years track season. My LCA"s are on order, after that I should be ready to go....unless.....I get that new blow by racing 70mm TB. Hmmm....

...yes I know, I'm sick. I got the mod bug bad!

Cool cool. Even with all your mods, I couldnt stand a chance where i live. There's a specialty shop here that takes 350Zs and 300ZXs and mods the **** out of them. The owner of the place has a 350 that...hah.....wouldnt suprise me if it ran in the mid 11s !!! This place is ridulous. Im talking hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of mods!!!

so needless to say i gave up on ever trying to outrun a 350Z around here anywhere pretty quickly! haha

i dont get it either, i mean they should make the GT compare with the Ls1 camaros. its a damn shame that a 99 z28 can take out a 2006 mustang gt stock. thats sad.

According to the "shootout" kind of thing... 1999 Z28 SS is listed at [email protected] (scroll to bottom)

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...23/pageId=1121

Here's one that list it 13.7

http://web.radiant.net/kms/specs.html

I've also seen reference to 13.6... So I would say it's very unfair to say a 99 Z28 SS is going to take out a stock GT... it's going to be a drivers race....

Here's a stock one running 13.83... http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...eslip-894.html

Here's a lightly modded one running 13.69.... http://www.dragtimes.com/Chevrolet-C...slip-7351.html

Dang... I guess I can take on an SS! WOOHOO!!! LOL!

The dyno showed no difference with a MMR throttle body spacer! The dyno showed no difference with Royal Purple synthetic oil in the engine and transmission!
do you mean that there was no difference and the peak hp and tq, or there was just no differance at all?

Raw HP and TQ don't always equate to better track times, that is why the imports suprise us sometimes and sometimes not. Its about putting it to the ground, which is why scrmings car suprises a lot of people. I'm hoping to be in the same category as soon as I put my LCA's on.
