Default Can't burn rubber

so the other day, i put the car in drive...pressed on the brake, slammed on the gas, and burnt some pretty good rubber. I tried it last night 3 times and it didn't work....whats the deal? and yes, the traction controll is off.

what i do is hold the brake and put it in neural, hold it just below 4000, then drop it into first and floor it, and very quickly put it into D. then release the break when you want to go forward

make sure TCS is off too

Chris be careful doing that. A neutral drop is one of the fastest ways to destroy an automatic transmission.

Our cars computer have a torque management system... the computer prevents the car from making to much torque. This is very apparent if you have an automatic transmission. This is why a stock automatic will not spin the tires from a dead stop in a straight line... you can get the tires to chirp more if you are making a turn when you take off. A good tune will remove the torque management stuff... and you'll be able to do one tired burnouts... LOL!

As pointed out... doing it Chris's way is HORRIBLE on your tranny! Although the tranny is computer controlled so it's not quite a hard on the tranny... the computer will not shift the car into 1st until the RPMS come down... but still I do not recommend this method!

For a little powerbraking... check here... http://www.tammyandjohn.com/Mustang/...ng_burnout.wmv

I though u were joking about doing the neutral drop Chris! Dont ever do that again , get a tune and u will be able to burn out all u want. Only neutral drops i have ever done are on RENTALS.......

Really no need to put it into 1st... just leave it in D... hold the brake, run the RPMS up to around 2,000, left off the brake and push the gas at the same time... Of course without a tune you really won't get much burning... stupid torque managment system... LOL
