hood scoop or ring and pinion

hood scoop or ring and pinion
i have been waiting to order my hood scoop for the past 3 or 4 months and finally monday i will be ordering it. HOWEVER, i am noticing more and more that the initial take off on the stang leaves much to be desired. SUV's get a better take off then i do. granted if i flog the hell out of it i can get good take off but for everyday driving i figure i should not have to do that. the 6 has the option of either the 3.73 or teh 4.10 R&P and i was leaning more towards the 3.73 but i am torn between the scoop or the R&P. the R&P is cheaper by 6 bucks (care ful now, those 6 bucks could brake he bank) and as a result i can feel it in my seat where as the scoop is just cosmetic but looks great. what do you guys think i should do. monday will be here before you know it and i wanna have my choice done up before then so i can just order and be done with it. i really need your help guys and gals. thanks.

Are you going to get a tuner with the gears or do you already have one? If you dont want to tune it with the gears or in the near future, i would go with the hood. Basically, do you want looks or speed?

i dont have a tuner yet. do i absolutely need one? cant i just replace the tiny gear thats also in the rear and fix that problem? sorry that i dont know the name, but it's colored and you can replace that rather then doing the whole tuner bit. i plan on having tuner but not anytime soon. the look i am going for is obviously badass mustang and i wanna have a mean ride but i also wanna have some bite to back up the look. nothing is more annoying then pulling up to someone who is all show with no go. lots of that going on down in this hell hole. ND i mean. if i go for the scoop i can always just order a kit later on which includes an intake, pulley, and tuner for 675. not to shabby at all when you think that the tuner alone runs about 300 or 400. i just mite hold off a touch more for teh gear and just make a whole day of parts adding when i do the intake, pulley and gear replace. no point in getting it now if my speedo will read retarded.

I wouldn't go with the gears unless you're doing t-lock at the same time. You're probably looking at a little over a grand for t-lock, ring and pinion and install costs, so it's probably going to run a lot more than the hood scoop you're considering.
