Re-Engineered T45: Free Billet Stop for Forum Members

The T45, the original equipment 5-speed from 1996-2000, is a strong transmission with some inherent quality issues. Due to overwhelming warranty costs Ford replaced it in 2001 with the Tremec 3650, a transmission that was not as robust but was infinitely more reliable. For those of you who have been putting up with the problems of the stock T45 transmission, namely popping out of reverse, gear grinding and hard first gear engagement, we have great news. A re-engineered T45 is now available to our customers that eliminates all of these quality issues.
This is no backyard re-design either! The modifications were made by professional engineers, one of whom worked for Borg-Warner and is considered the "Father of the T56". Over twelve months of research and design work went into the T45R/RS and buyers will definitely see, feel and enjoy the difference.
The street model T-45R includes:
â–º all new upgraded carbon fiber synchronizers,
â–º new bearings and seals,
â–º new gears as required,
â–º an aluminum alloy case and bell housing
â–º an all new machined Billet PRO Shifter with internal spring biasing for crisp, positive shifting.
The street and race model T-45RS adds:
â–º a new lightweight steel SFI approved race bellhousing,
â–º high strength alloy bearing retainer,
â–º a new super duty input shaft featuring oversize 1-1/8 inch x 26 spline
â–º a new 450ft-lb/26 spline disc with sprung hub
The T-45RS allows Mustang owners to finally be able to legally race their cars on the drag strip and protect their safety in the event of clutch or flywheel scatter– a major safety improvement for 1996 – 2004 Mustang owners.
Both transmissions can be ordered with an optional pre-installed adjustable shift stop to protect the transmission from damage during hard shifting.
