Welcome dude! You're more than welcome to come. Car guys are car guys no matter which car they choose. I'm not totally anti-Camaro so you won't catch too much flak from me. I haven't met any of the other guys yet, either, but they seem to be a pretty good bunch. I hang out with 7 or 8 guys that have Camaros, T/As, and GTOs, and when we all get together I'm the only Mustang owner haha. I get some grief but I'm a good sport and we generally respect each others' rides.

Haha I'm used to hanging with mustang guys! I honestly love any car I can work on. My sister has always had a mustang and I grew up in a predominately ford household, but after my first car (96 ford Taurus with purple interior lol) I knew I wanted to save up for the most polar opposite car I could find haha

Funny, I was pretty much opposite - grew up in a Chevy family, but my dad was a huge Ford fan. My mom's side of the family wouldn't buy anything but a Chevy. My mom insisted that we buy Chevys and my family had some cool cars like a 78 Corvette Silver Anniversary, 87 IROC-Z Camaro L98, 87 Monte Carlo SS, 96 Corvette Grand Sport, and a 97 Camaro Z28. My dad always kept a Ford truck though. When I went to prom my Sophomore year my friend drove an IROC-Z and got spanked by a 5.0 GT foxbody in a drag race. I will never forget the sight of the rear squatting and the sounds that Mustang was making as it was pulling away from that Camaro, it just looked violent, and I've been hooked on Mustangs ever since. I still love Vettes and Camaros though. Funny thing is that now my mom drives a Ford Edge and wouldn't trade it for anything. A 96 Taurus? I wouldn't wish that on anyone lol! I heard you were looking for a Vortec 5.7. Did you see THIS ONE? I had a bad experience with the engine (3, actually) in a 97 Z71 but they are normally stout. Should power that Camaro nicely.

Back on topic - anyone else going to BWW?

Sounds like some amazing cars! My Really good friend in high school had an 89 5.0 that was fun as hell back then. We would always be racing someone and that engine held up amazingly for all the abuse it took lol. I gotta say that car really got me excited abt working on cars, I was always trying to build something to beat it haha

Everybody still coming? I resisted the urge to go there tonight and satisfy my wing craving so SOMEBODY BETTER SHOW UP SUNDAY lol. I'm still searching for some ridiculous way to be recognized in the middle of the restaurant...

Correction s1-97. There really needs to be an edit button for mobile users, all we get is a quote button.
