Wheel/Tire Size 4-5 lug disc conversion
I have a 91 GT Convertible and replacing rear drum with disc and 5 lug on front and rear. I am using SN95 front spindle and hub and SN95 rear axles, disc, 5 lug, etc. I am informed that the rear track with increase by 3/4" per side. What is the largest wheel size and widest tire/size I can use? Stagger is OK. Car has been lowered not more than 1" I believe.
I have been told to stay with 17" and not go to 18" Anyone with same changes and can you help?

Answers to something like this are difficult to get because of the many variables involved. Wheel set-back is one of the main things affecting tire clearance, aside from rolling diameter. Someone who has done it might provide good answers, but OTOH do you want to accept someone's guess, and go ahead to find out too late they won't clear?
One thing you can do is measure the distance you would have available from the axle shaft flange after installation, to suspension and to fender lip. Then a big rim width and tire width can be decided on . imp
