I have a 2004 Mustang V-6 convertible that I purchased used. It came with 225/55/16. I want to purchase either a 17 inch Cobra or Bullett GT wheel. I have talked with 3 different dealers and have been 3 different answers on tires. They have told me a 245/45/17 ,255/55/17 , 205/55/17. I want to keep the same height as the tires now . Can you help me and let me know which is best or what I should get to go with the 17 inch wheels?

I don't know what anyone was thinking saying ALL the following tires are the same diameter... assuming this is what happened:

225/55/16" tire = 25.7" diameter
245/45/17" tire = 25.7" diameter
255/55/17" tire = 28.3" diameter
205/55/17" tire = 25.2" diameter

You can run something other than the OEM diameter of 25.7" tire, but can vary a bit. You really need to make sure the front/rear tires are the same diameter to avoid ABS sensor issues. The common thinking is that 1" differential is the max to avoid such issues.
