the welds are a 3 piece construction, they have a thick piece of steel as th core, which bolts to the hub, and the outer halves are what appears to be a stamped/molded aluminum.

Very light, not very strong.

The Summit Fast Fives are a 1 piece, cast aluminum wheel.

Strong, but heavy.

If your plans are to DD the car, i'd take the summit wheels hands down. If itll see track duty only, I'd recommend the welds. I would not recommend driving on the welds, for day to day use. they are soft, and don't take potholes very well.
