Will these rub up front?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/chromesaleen.html Got these..are they gonna rub up front of my 97 gt with that tire size it needs? 265/35 it says is recommended.

I see no issues at alll with that tire/wheel combo and the ad even agrees with me ;)

AM is VERY good with fitment, so I see you as being nothing but happy with your new purchase. Be sure to post pics when all installed in the customer rides sticky in this section.

Jazzer :)

Jazzer, this question may fit you :) Below im posting pics, one of my driver side wheel and my passenger side wheel.

Look at the gap from the sideskirt and the tire. Driver side is smaller...this is all due to me investigating why my 245/40 R18's were rubbing up front on sharp turns.

That is an OEM sized tire on your car, so should not even be close to rubbing on anything, especially if you are not lowered (doesn't appear you are)

Do you have CC plates?
Have you ever had any front end suspension work done or bushings changed?
Has your car ever been in an accident?

If none of the above, how many miles do you have on your car?

Jazzer :)

Im not the original owner of this car (2 others that I know of). It was involved in an accident where the previous owner was hit in the rear passenger side causing a bent rear housing (replaced that already). Im gonna go measure out the difference I see, it looks like a good 1/2 inch.

An I dont know what CC plates are :) No front end suspension work done (I would love to know what I could upgrade though!)

Jazzer The Cat 04-17-2011 11:10 AM

Do some measuring and see if anything is bent or doesn't match the other side.

As for suspension mods, my question is always the following...

What are the ULTIMATE goals for your ride?

Jazzer :)

Haha, she is my daily driver during the summer, it WILL ultimately get a 4V cobra engine down the road.. What would I measure underneath to see if that front unibody is bent right there??

Jazzer The Cat 04-17-2011 11:45 AM

Just compare both sides to one another and see if there is a difference. If the one wheel is off by 1/2", I would certainly check for a bent strut, badly worn bushings or maybe a bad ball joint.

The difference will give itself away, just look very closely at EVERYTHING!

So after taking a peek underneath, ive determined the inside of my tire is smacking into some bar, which im taking a guess is my front sway bar, on those sharp right turns. Looks like its been metal on metal numerous times. Id say replace the sway bar, but im guessing the rubbing will still be there..so Im at a loss.
