What does Vaughn Gittin Jr. do when he’s not competing in the Formula Drift series? He makes insane drifting videos. We’ve seen him getting sideways around the sandy Al Reem Circuit in Saudi Arabia and going head-to-head with the road-racing Mustang RTR from Performance Autosport, just to name a few. This latest video, titled Fire Drift, might just be the craziest out of all of them.

Today, DreamWorks Studios and Ford Motor Company are pleased to announce an exclusive partnership for the feature film “Need for Speed,” which will include significant integration of Ford products, along with extensive media promotion by Ford at the time of the film’s release on March 14, 2014. The announcement coincides with the unveiling of a one-of-a-kind Ford Mustang for the film, during Electronic Arts’ press conference at E3 Expo in Los Angeles later today.
If there’s ever a car that embodies the “Built Ford Tough” tagline, it’s Jack Haden’s 2003 Mustang. After hiding out in a storm cellar with his pregnant wife to avoid the massive EF5 tornado that hit Oklahoma last week, Haden emerged to find his beloved Mustang thrown across the road and smashed into a tree. By the look of it, the Mustang was obliterated and would never run again. Imagine his surprise, then, when he turned the key and the engine fired right up.
Take one wrecked 2007 GT500. Take one super clean Fox body notch. The take virtually everything from the S197 except for the body and suspension. And you get this: a totally wicked sleeper built by Jason Hall of Mississippi. Oh, and did I mention that Jason did it with a friend outside under a carport? Yeah, we’ve seen a lot of Fox body Coyote swaps recently. But this takes it to another level.
