LG Ad with Drifting Mustang, Fake?

It’s a cool concept that LG has with its curved monitor system. If you line them up just right, you could create a surrounding picture of anything going in a circle. A huge oval track, a traffic roundabout, a Mustang doing a donut; however, there is only one problem with the ad that LG created with a Mustang drifting around a set of cameras. It’s fake.

Well, the Mustang doing the donuts isn’t fake — that part is kind-of real. Poorly done, but mostly real. It’s the act of the people getting a chance to watch their “hard work” being put on display on the monitors that curve around them.

However, it turns out the monitors were green-screened to look like the Mustang was drifting around while they watched and cheered on. Now, this might have been done because capturing a video screen on-camera could capture blank screens due to discordant refresh rates, so there is that excuse. However, this isn’t the first time LG has pulled some fakery. Check out a couple of videos below as examples:

Of course, we have a better use of curved monitors.
