The anticipation for the 50th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang has been fueling a lot of discussions around the office here at The Mustang Source over which Mustangs have been the most iconic over the past five decades.
Sure, we know - they're all special in their unique way. But with every great automotive nameplate there's always a few that stick out. Is it the 1964 ½ Mustang, which is credited with starting it all? How about the first Shelby GT Mustang?
Maybe you're a little more "new school" and think the first Mustang to carry the 5.0 badge will go down as one of the most memorable models of the Ford pony car − or the third generation longer based Fox platform.
Then you could be a more a die-hard fan of some of the Mustang variants built by companies such as Saleen or Roush.
