More details on the Galpin Auto 50th Anniversary Mustang

The largest Ford dealer in the U.S., Galpin Auto, and its Galpin Auto Sports are paying tribute to the 50 years of the Ford Mustang with a Gold-themed 2015 model. Here is a closer look at this special car that celebrates a special anniversary for Ford and Mustang.

The Galpin Auto Sport (GAS) Team started off this Mustang like they do many others: with a striking facelift. The front fascia is restyled to match the three strakes found in the factory headlights. New headlights have been created that integrate LED turn signals and turn on in sequence – just like the rear turn signals. A carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panels have been installed, as well as a more aggressive rear diffuser.

Under the hood the gold theme continues with a supercharger that Goldmember would be proud of. The Whipple Supercharger is powder-coated in gold, and you not only get to see it when you open the hood, but also through the hood with its integrated glass window. “We like the black-and-gold idea, and really wanted to get the color as close to 24-carat gold as possible,” said Brandon Boeckmann, GAS operations manager.

This supercharged Coyote produces 725 horsepower and it sounds like a wild canine with a Magnaflow exhaust system. Keeping this Mustang in control around the corners is a kit of Steeda suspension products.
