Now that the S550 Mustang is out on streets, we’ve been paying attention to the hotly anticipated Shelby variants of the new Mustang. We know that the car will make over 500 horsepower from the 5.2L, flat-plane crank V8. But what we don’t know is how much it’ll cost. Until now, that is.

Thanks to a leak, we anticipate that the regular GT350 will start at $49,995. That includes the destination charge as well as a $1,300 gas-guzzler tax. We think $50,000 is a heck of a deal!

For your $50,000, you’re looking at a car with over 500 horsepower and over 400 lb-ft of torque from the flat-plane crank V8. In addition, you’re getting an upgraded suspension, performance brakes, and other go-fast goodies. Plus, you get awesome MagneRide magnetorheological ride control dampers.

There will be two additional options on the base Shelby GT350; a Track Package and a Technology Package. The Track Package adds additional cooling for track days, whereas the Technology Package adds satellite navigation, heated and cooled seats, and more.

If you want to upgrade to the Shelby GT350 R, expect to shell out $63,495. Designed to compete with the Camaro Z/28, it comes in over $10,000 cheaper than the Camaro and should have similar or better performance.

What an incredible time to be a Mustang fan!
