Get ready Mustang fans, the wait is almost over, the time has almost come, the chicken is leaving the hen house, and Liam Nesson has almost found you. Wait, that got a bit out of hand, what we’re talking about here is the new Ford Mustang GT350, and the first ever GT350R rolling out of the Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

Ford’s CEO Bill Ford was on hand for the car’s departure from the plant assembly line. In a press release, Ford stated, “This is a special day for all Mustang enthusiasts. We have taken the GT350 formula to the next level of innovation, style and performance. Today the legend continues.”

The new GT350 and GT350R Mustang use a 5.2L flat plane crank V8 engine, which makes 526 horsepower and 429lb-ft of torque to help propel the most track capable Mustangs ever built by the company. These first few GT350s have already been spoken for, but when the full allotment goes on sale next year, the car will start at $47,795 for the GT350, and $61,295 for the GT350R. Both significantly undercutting Chevy’s last generation Z/28.
