With the new Shelby GT350 Mustang, Ford is essentially throwing out the book on all the old ways of the Mustang. It is no longer the drag racer of old, but rather a wholly modern sportscar that is not only meant to decimate the track, but also your eardrums. It represents everything Ford can do with the Mustang platform, before essentially turning it into the new Ford GT.

However, Ford isn’t stopping with a new engine, carbon wheels, carbon brakes, a host of new suspension tweaks, and a bunch of track tuned items that make the car go faster. No, the company also wants to make you faster. And no, we don’t mean Ford is going to come to your house and put you on a diet. We mean Ford’s new Performance Shift Light Indicator HUD display.

Using the Mustang’s windshield as a second screen, the HUD display projects onto the glass a display when you need to shift. It essentially removes the need to look down at the tachometer while driving, meaning you’ll be able to keep your eyes on the track and become a faster driver.

The Performance Shift Light Indicator represents just one of the many little things Ford has done to make this the ultimate Mustang. But it is definitely one of the coolest items on the new GT350.

Stay tuned for more details surrounding the new GT350 coming out in the next few weeks.
