Is the Mustang GT350R Better than the Porsche 911 GT3? Ford Thinks So

At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, Ford’s Chief Mustang Engineer, the man behind the new GT350R, slammed down the gauntlet on Stuttgart’s finest. Dave Pericak (CME), stated that the new GT350R is better than the new Porsche 911 GT3.

Pericak indicated that Ford actually used the 911 GT3 as a reference point in the tuning of the new GT350R, however, he stated that they aren’t trying to imitate Porsche or even take on the Z/28. Which is something I have a hard time believing.

Right now, we’re still fairly in the dark about the new GT350R. We don’t know weight or horsepower figures yet. And while we’ve heard reports of the how well the GT350R did at the infamous Nurburgring, those impressive numbers are still unconfirmed.

We’ll just have to wait a little bit longer till we really know what this new Mustang is all about. That said, it’s sure to be a storming good time.
