Roush Performance’s Phase 1 S550 Cranks Out 750 HP

Roush Mustang Phase 1

Just hearing that Roush Performance was working to beef up the output on the 2015 Mustang was enough to get excited about. But hearing that the team has managed to crank 750 horses out of the new Ford pony car? Well, that my, friends, is worthy of a standing ovation.

The latest reports show that Fisker’s Mustang-based Rocket is putting out 630 horses and Hennessey’s Mustang is cranking out 663 horsepower. But they ain’t got nothing on Roush. Team Roush is now sharing the numbers for its Phase 1 Mustang: 747 horses and 599 lb-ft. of torque at the rear wheels, as highlighted in a Road & Track report.

Okay, feel free to applaud here. I’ve sure been going bananas over what Roush has been able to pull off, given the fairly short time the s550 has been on the market.

Running on 93 Octane gas and stock headers and catalytic converters, Roush’s beast of a Mustang features a 2.3-liter supercharger, a 75mm supercharger pulley for additional boost, upgraded fuel injectors, a fuel pump booster, and the requisite computer fiddling.

Just wait until you hear this thing whine up for the final tally, as demonstrated in the video below.
