Watch a 1,300-Horsepower Cobra Beat Everyone at TX2K15
The TX2K15 drag event has grown to massive proportions in the last few years. And with that growth, cars have become faster than ever before.
We saw this progression when last year’s winner, the AMS Alpha Omega GT-R, was decimated by ETS’s GT-R. Cars are now exceeding 2000 horsepower routinely, with some breaking into the 3000 horsepower range. The engineering behind these cars is absolutely mind numbing, as is the performance.
However, where does that leave regular old 1000+ horsepower cars? Do they even matter anymore? Of course they do, they’re still unbelievably fast. Add to the fact that all of these cars are apparently still street able, and you’ve got the recipe for something wicked.
And something wicked we have here. This is Voodoo Racing’s 94mm Turbo 2003 Mustang Cobra Street car. It puts down 1300 horsepower and sounds like a banshee coming straight out of hell fire in a wind storm. While the paint scheme is something I personally wouldn’t endorse, you definitely can’t argue with how fast this car really is. In fact, it won its class at this year’s TX2K15.
