I didn't realize you all felt so strongly about flames....
Here's my dad's '04 Mustang, it was the first full flame job I laid out by hand and shot with House of Kolor Kandy Kobalt Blue. If I could do it over, I would do some things differently, and I really wish I would have pinstriped the flames before clear, but you learn from your mistakes.

Yeah, I worked at a local premier body shop for 2.5 years, and was head painter for 1.5 of those years... Like I said, that was the first time I did flames on a vehicle, so all things considered, I was happy with how they turned out. I marked center of the hood, laid out the driver's side, and then tried to mirror the passenger side by eyeing it up. If I were to do it again, I would do one half, make a stencil, and flip it to the other side to make things even on both sides... This one is close, side-to-side, but not perfect.

Here's a photo of a guy I know from some local car shows. The flames fit the car very well, and they look even better when you see the car in person.

Really flashy and "loud" flames might have been fine in the 50's, and on drag cars, but I think it's tough to pull off effectively for a nice street-driven car.

I was thinking of doing flames and did a lot of research. The ones above are the style of flames I like the old school look not into the real fire stuff. I just didnt like the idea of having the red, yellow and white flames was thinking of going with all black. In the end I didnt want to spend the money, most folks were wanting $4K and up. The other thing is I couldnt find a single car I really really liked and once you put them on there is no going back. In the end I am happy I didnt do it.
