Default Need help with grille decision

I found a guy who wants to trade his GT grille with fog lights and blacked out pony for a stock 6er grille, I have no idea why. I was initially reluctant to even make contact because of fitment issues, but decided to look into it more. I actually found a write up on how to fabricate the GT grille to work on a 6 so i showed it to the guy and told him if this seemed feasible and worth it to him, i would trade him. But now i'm not sure...so what do you guys think? I currently have the V6 grille with billet overlay, and I like how the metal shine of the grill goes with the metallic shine of Tungsten Grey. BUT i'm going to be doing a lot more black accenting on my car than I already have (GT500 rear waiting for paint and black chin spoiler eventually) and think the GT grill will fit in better at that point, especially with the blacked out pony. Opinions?

well I personally like the look of the GT grill with the fogs but the billet is also nice. what you could do is trade for the GT and later get a billet grill that will fit the GT one if you miss the billet look. I got my GT billet grill off ebay for 40 bucks and its great quality.

lol don't worry, it's not on YET. Those two were examples of what's coming up, sorry i worded it badly, I just fixed it. The GT500 rear is waiting for paint right now. I agree the Bullitt grille would look good, but I want to see if this works first.

That's true, I have thought about that. I could put on billet then remove it when I put on the chin spoiler or whatever. Thank you guys for the input

One of my main concerns is that part of the fabrication process is removing the tabs and using 3M tape for some fastening, I don't know if that sounds secure...

I see what you mean looking at it now. By the way, you're bullitt grill idea got me thinking...I had to take off my grill pony to put on the billet, so if I take off the billet I'll basically have the bullitt grill with a small pony cut out. And if that looks bad, I can just smoke my pony (hoping i still have it) and maybe 3M it back in...

I haven't tried to fabricate the gt grille onto the v6, but from what I've heard it can be done. But it won't look very clean. An option is switch to a gt bumper then you can use the gt grilles. Also if you look around you can find just about any style grille that you like, made for the v6 or gt. In other words, you can get a "GT" grille that will fit properly in your v6 bumper.

Yeah I'd imagine it would eventually bulge and look ugly.

I have a stock GT front bumper and grille I've been thinking about selling. It would need paint but its in good condition. If your interested. I located right over in Moreno Valley, and will be at the cruise next weekend.
