Default 2010 Quarter Panels? Is it possible?

Would it be possible to install 2010 Quarter Panel hips onto an 05-09? I love the 2005 design, but it's a little flat in the quarter panel area. The 2010 made up for this.

Would the '10 quarter panel be compatible with the 06? Would it require some cutting?

keep in mind yo uwould also need the whole rear end/trunk area and bumper....and doors....and even if you do those ....the doors prolly wouldn't match the fenders.....

If you replaced EVERY body panel maybe?... my guess is there would still be something that wouldn't work

you are better off having a shop weld some " hips " on there then touch up with bondo and repaint. It's a cool idea, but I doubt it would work. I think the only thing that's the same is the 1/4 window lol

Exactly.
The body lines don't match at all and the cut away for the rear bumper fit is completely different...
Best to have a custom shop work the sheet metal on your existing quarters and your door skin at the end, would have to be modified as well

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but it fits perfectly to my question.

I also plan to weld some "hips" on my 08 Stang.
However, I thought about using 65/66 or 67/68 quarter panels instead.

Doesn anyone know which one would be the better choice (in terms of length, ease of installation/fit etc.)

Anyone out there who has done something similar?

Thanks!

This just sounds like a bad idea getting worse...

Thank you. I already was in contact with them but they are not selling parts individually

Yeah they "figured it out..." No they didn't. Dude look how TALL the rear quarter panels look - not good.

However, I have thought about the same thing but going back to the original idea of putting the top section of the kick up on the quarter panel from a 2010+ Mustang is a better direction. I have already photoshopped it to just get an idea of if it might even look good and it's possible. I've already talked with my buddy about it who owns a shop and has the skills to do it. He and I discussed maybe doing it and then splash fiberglass kick ups that could be sold and added on by others. I need to look into it more before I think it could be possible. Hey, anything is possible with either enough time or money or both.
